Backup Restore Tool

If you have purchased the Basic or Premium Backup Services extra feature to your SiteGround StartUp hosting account, or if your account is using one of our higher shared hosting plans GrowBig or GoGeek, you will have an easy and intuitive way to restore your files and databases with just a few clicks in your cPanel. You will see two new tools that you can use to:

• Restore your account files
• Restore your MySQL databases

How to Restore your Files

To restore your files, first you need to login to your cPanel. Then, locate the File backup restore tool in the Backups Manager section.

Once you click on the icon, you will be brought to a new page where you can find a list of all the available backup dates that you can restore your files from. Select the one that will best serve your needs and click on the rightmost button Send to Agent.

Doing this will initiate the restore wizard. Simply click on the Send to Agent button in order to proceed.

Once the restore starts, you will see a progress screen showing what part of the restore process is completed. Note that it may take a few minutes if you have a lot of files to restore.

When the restore is complete, you will see a confirmation screen showing that everything has been restored successfully. Simply click the OK button and close the page. Your files are now restored from the date you previously selected!

How to Restore your Databases

Restoring your databases is even easier than restoring your files. First, in your cPanel click on the MySQL backup restore button in the Backups Manager section.

Now you need to select the date that you want your databases restored from. Choose the date picker to select a restore point for your database(s).

Next, you will see a list of databases available for restore. Simply select the databases you want to have restored and click the Restore button.

That's it! You can now close the page, your database is successfully restored from the backup date you selected!
